If you grew up watching Saturday Night Live in the 1990's, often the best part of the show was when Phil Hartman would intone, "...And now, Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey". These were tiny interstitial segments between sketches narrated off-screen by Jack Handey himself. That's right, Jack Handey is a real guy not a made-up funny name like most assumed. He was a writer on SNL from 1985-1998 and then again during the 2001-2002 season. He's also written many humor books, the latest of which is ingeniously titled The Stench of Honolulu: A Tropical Adventure. In this edition of Daily Grind, I'm alternating between Handey's Deep Thoughts and some actual deep thoughts happening all over the world and in the news today.
...And Now, Deep Thoughts...

Mental Yoga - Something is wrong on the internet by James Bridle:
"Someone or something or some combination of people and things is using YouTube to systematically frighten, traumatise, and abuse children, automatically and at scale, and it forces me to question my own beliefs about the internet, at every level."
